Reading Certificates

At the end of each Term, children who have read regularly at home are awarded a certificate in Celebration Assembly and receive a treat with Miss Wilcox (English Lead).

Reading at home is indicated by a signature on the 'Reading at Home' chart in the front of children's blue home-school reading records.

We expect children in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) to read at least 5 times per week and children in Reception to read/practise their blending bag at least 5 times per week.

Photos of our reading achievers will be published below each term.

Term 1 Reading Achievers - 2019-20

54 children across Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a Halloween Treat on the final day of Term 1 for completing their Reading Grid in Term 1. These children all read at least 30 times at home during Term 1!

Thank you to all our parents for their support with our expectation of at least 5 reading sessions per week! It really does help the children make progress!

This term, there is a very strong correlation between reading regularly at home and being on track or above the expected reading level so practise at home in addition to reading at School is crucial!
