At Raunds Park Infant School we work very hard to support all our children including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Children with additional needs are fully integrated into the life of the school and all children can access the whole curriculum offered.
We believe that the best provision for children who have additional needs is quality first teaching. However, should a child need more focused intervention then they may be withdrawn at certain times during the school day for extra teaching in relevant areas.
We carefully plan individualised learning programmes which highlight the learning difficulties and set targets. We believe that it is essential in involve parents/carers, teachers and children in the reviewing process and will have regular meetings to discuss and share information. Where necessary we access support from outside agencies such as Educational Psychology, the school nurse and Speech and Language.
Miss Julia Underwood is the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and manages the provision for our children with SEND. She is happy to discuss any issues you may have regarding SEND. She can be contacted by calling 01933 622415 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
